Oak Grange
A large detached stone built 13th century barn conversion, in a quiet scenic country location. Surrounded by open fields in the hamlet of Melmerby.
There is a large patio area, perfect for sitting out on a summer evening, admiring the views.
There are wonderful views from the lounge window overlooking Rover Crag. The lounge is furnished with three large settees, a television and coffee table. Adjacent to the lounge is a large farmhouse kitchen/diner, with a large table seating 6 people. The kitchen is very well equipped with a fan oven, ceramic hob, and integrated fridge and dishwasher. There's also a microwave, kettle, toaster, a plentiful supply of pots and pans etc. The fridge/freezer can be found in the utility room together with a washer/dryer, leading off this room is a downstairs toilet.
Upstairs there is an en-suite master bedroom with king-size bed, a large double bedroom, twin bedroom with a fantastic views across vale of York, and a family bathroom with bath/shower.
There is ample space for parking for 2 cars, and more on the drive. This residence does not have an electric meter, electricity is covered in the price. Beds are made up on arrival and all bedding is provided. Visitors need to bring towels and teatowels with them.
Melmerby
A quiet hamlet in Coverdale. An ideal location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, with great scope for walking the moors direct from your door. A local pub which serves food is within walking distance, in the neighbouring village of Carlton.
Provisions can be found in the local market town of Leyburn, just 4 miles away, where you can also find several good pubs and restaurants.
Directions to Oak Grange
Arriving from the south come off A1 at BEDALE turn off, follow the 684 to Leyburn.
Arriving from the north turn off A1 at Scotch Corner for Richmond then follow the signs to Leyburn.
Once in Leyburn follow the signs for A684 Hawes, through Wensley over the river then first left for Carlton. Stay on this road into Melmerby. Once in Melmerby take the 1st right up the hill. The drive for Oak Grange is the first right.
Note: there is another place called Melmerby, which is close to Ripon, so beware!
